The Sonoma Mission Inn, officially called The Fairmont Mission Inn and Spa, is one of my recommendations for those looking for luxury during their Sonoma Valley vacation. Located in the city of Sonoma California, the Fairmont Mission Inn and Spa is an historic resort and is just three miles from the town’s main plaza. After a day of wine tasting, relax by one of the resort’s pools, baths or select a treatment from the spa. One thing that makes this resort unique is the fact that it is one of the only luxury spa resorts in the county that has its own source of thermal mineral water.

Want to do something a little more active? Then head out for the resort’s daily complementary hike or bike adventures or sign up to play 18-holes on the resort’s championship golf course. You can also join one of the many fitness classes offered throughout the day. For those of you that want to continue wine tasting, the resort also has a wine tasting event in the lobby every afternoon.

The resort has 226 guest rooms and suites all with top of the line amenities including wireless access in every room, cable TV and air-conditioning. Some of the rooms also have fireplaces for those cooler wine country nights.

Another great thing about the Sonoma Mission Inn is the access to fine dining. Sante Restaurant is open every night for dinner and serves dishes made from fresh local produce, meats, poultry and seafood. They also serve brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Reservations are required to dine at Sante Restaurant.

The Big 3 is another option on the resort serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. This restaurant is a bistro with a little more of a casual atmosphere. A local favorite in Sonoma, The Big 3 serves dishes such as country breakfasts, pizza and homemade macaroni and cheese.

If you would prefer to stay near the pool, visit The Water Tower restaurant. This historic restaurant allows poolside attire and serves up sandwiches, salads and the cocktail of your choice. The resort also offers in-room service all day.

The Sonoma Mission Inn is one of the most popular hotels in the Sonoma Valley region and is a great option for those seeking luxury. There are also a lot of other Sonoma Valley hotels in and around Sonoma for every budget.

All prices listed may vary based on accommodations selected, the season you are visiting or changes to the hotel rate cards.
