Green Valley is a small region within the larger Russian River Valley. This area produces some of the best Pinots and is home to De Loach Vineyards. They produce award winning bottles that showcase the fruit forward nature of both the Green Valley and the Russian River Valley regions.

Dutton Goldfield's winery is also in the Green Valley of Russian River Valley. They produce small lot Sonoma County Pinot Noir wines. Many have received a 90+ point rating. The cool climate around their vineyards provides structure and balance.

Etude is the next producer on the list. This winery is in the Carneros region on the southern end of Sonoma Valley. The vineyards here have rich volcanic soils, making them perfect for Pinot Noir.
They harvest from almost twenty different clones providing depth and variety in their finished product.

Flowers is a new addition to my Sonoma County Pinot Noir wines list. Their beautiful vineyards are in the Sonoma Coast region and benefit from the cool breezes off the Pacific Ocean which is just a few miles away.

The San Francisco Chronicle recently named the winemaker at Freestone Vineyards one of the "Winemakers to Watch". I would agree. This small winery started in 1999 and already has several award winning Sonoma County Pinot Noir wines on the market.

Hartford Court produces some of the best Sonoma County Pinot Noir wines from their home in Green Valley. They focus most of their efforts on Pinots and make up to eight different labels each year. Theirs come from all of the key regions in the county including Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast, Green Valley and Carneros.

Although the Pinots here are not as famous as their sparkling variety, they are still some of the best Sonoma County Pinot Noir wines on the market. Located in the Carneros region, Gloria Ferrer first started producing award winning ones more than 25 years ago and has several amazing Pinots available today.

La Crema is another one of my favorite Sonoma County Pinot Noir wines. Their high quality options are great because there is one for every budget. La Crema has a variety of Pinots and you can usually find them at grocery stores or your local shop.

Although they are near the bottom of the list, you will find some of the best of the best Sonoma County Pinot Noir Wines at Marimar. All of the wines here are estate produced using European growing methods. These methods stress the vine and produce the low yield, high quality grapes used for their highly acclaimed wines.
