Napa Valley Vacation Guide
A Napa Valley vacation is a trip to one of the most famous wine regions in California. There are over 300 wineries in this region that are concentrated along a 40 mile stretch of Hwy 29. Some of the wineries in Napa Valley are also located Silverado Trail which is to the east and parallel to Hwy 29. There are about 40,000 vineyard acres in this region that grow a variety of different grapes for red wine. Some of the most popular red wines from this area are Cabernet Sauvignon wine, Merlot wine, Syrah wine and a few acres of Zinfandel wine. Along Hwy 29 in Napa Valley, there are five main towns that line up along the valley. Starting at the southern end is Napa, followed to the north by Yountville, Rutherford, St. Helena and on the northern end is Calistoga.
