There are a number of great Cabernet Sauvignon wines on the market today. You can find cheaper cabs from around $10 to $200 and up.
The wide price point range is due to the fact that Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the most grown wines in the world. This means there are a number of different wineries producing all different qualities of this wine.
This page includes some of my favorites. These are all from the northern California wine regions that are less than an hour from where I live. Most of these wines are high quality with a variety of price ranges.
Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon | Napa Valley Cabs
One of the most famous Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon producers is Alexander Valley Vineyards. This historic vineyard sits on the original homestead in the Alexander Valley region in northern California.
The Alexander Valley region has some of the best Cabernet wines in Sonoma County. These are more fruit forward award winning Cabernet Sauvignon wines. In their wines, you will taste flavors of black cherry, plum, cassis and chocolate.
This winery has a number of Cabernet wines. They have an amazing selection of Cabernet wines. They also have a beautiful winery and it's a great place to visit if you are ever in Sonoma Valley.
The Silver Label Cabernet Sauvignon from B.R. Cohn Winery is my favorite label. They are full bodied wines. You will smell and taste a variety of berries specifically black cherry. You can also usually taste hints of vanilla.
This winery is one of my favorites because they have a large selection of Cab wines at a decent price.
Fritz Winery is the next one of my list. This isn't as well known, but has some great Cabs every year. This winery is in Dry Creek Valley.
When tasting these wines, you will taste quite a bit of fruit including blackberry. You will also get those great Cabernet Sauvignon notes of coffee and cocoa.
The Cabs at Fritz range from around $28 to $40 a bottle. This varies by year.
Another popular producer for Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon wine is Jordan. This winery is in the popular Alexander Valley region in the northern part of Sonoma.
Jordan has been producing wine for more than 40 years in Sonoma. Their award winning Cabs are easy to find and available at a great value.
Their Cabs have aromas and flavors of red and black fruits. You will often find hints of cherry, blackberry, blueberry and vanilla from their oak aging process.

Beaulieu Vineyard (BV) is another one of my favorites for Cabernet wines. They are located in the beautiful Napa Valley wine region.
The reason I like this vineyard for their Cabs is because they make a great every day Cab. They are also at a price point that is reachable for any red wine lover.
In their Cabernet wines, you will taste hints of cherry, plum and chocolate flavors. This is one of the reasons that so many people love their wines.
Not far from Beaulieu Vineyard in Napa Valley, you will find another producer with some of the best Cabs in Napa Valley -- Hall Winery. This is another one of my favorites for these wines because of the rich and bold taste of these Cab wines.
You will find two levels of wines here. The higher end wines carry the Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon wine label. Their other Cabs carry just the Hall Winery label.
Common flavors and aromas from Hall Cabs include plum, vanilla, and nutmeg.
Merryvale Vineyards is another one of the great Napa Valley Wineries. They have a variety of Cabernet wines with a range of prices.
They also have two levels of quality. The standard Cabs include the Starmont Merryvale label. Their higher end Cabs only have the Merryvale name on their labels.
These are a favorite because of their hints of blackberries and black cherry. You will also find hints of vanilla and cedar in these wines.
Raymond Vineyards is another winery in Napa Valley that has been making wine since 1974.
They are known for their cabs and this is just one of the many Cabernet Sauvignon wines they have that I love. Each year, they also usually have their standard label as well as reserve cabs.
Common flavors and aromas of these Cabs include boysenberry, raspberry and red cherry. You will also find hints of black pepper and vanilla
